The opening stage of the 47. Rally Košice 2021 became the prey of the Polish competition crew Miko Marczyk - Szymon Gospodarczyk, driving a Škoda Fabia Rally2.
Today's Leg 1 of the 47th Rally Košice 2021 included a four special stages with a total length of sixty-two nine kilometers, while the total length of the kilometers traveled stopped at almost three hundred. In absolute order, after the first measured section, the leading position was taken by the aforementioned Miko Marczyk and his co-driver, who managed to win a total of three of the four special stages. From the second special stage, another Polish crew, in this case brother Lukasz and Tomasz Kotarba at the Citroën C3 Rally2, took second place in absolute classification, losing twenty-three tenths of a second to the winning crew. The three fastest were closed by other Polish crew Wojciech Chuchala and Sebastian Rozwadowski at the Škoda Fabia Rally2.
Within the Slovak Rally Championship 2021, the victory in the first stage of the 47. Rally Košice 2021 and, of course, the full number of points were taken by the crew from neighboring Poland, Tomasz Kasperczyk - Damian Syty on a Volkswagen Polo GTI. The second place in the first scoring day and another twenty-five points in the ongoing evaluation of the series went to the Slovak-Czech crew Jaroslav Melichárek and Martin Tureček driving a Škoda Fabia Rally2. The three fastest were closed by the Hungarian crew of the same type of vehicle László Német - Imre Tóth. The so-called potato medal was won in the first stage of the Slovak Rally Championship by the Polish crew Adrian Chwietczuk - Jaroslaw Baran also at the Škoda Fabia Rally2 and the TOP 5 fastest in the Slovak Championship was closed by the Slovak crew Roman Popovič - Matúš Lejko at the Škoda Fabia Rally2.
As part of the Slovak Rally Cup, Maroš Kysucký won today's stage with his co-driver Róbert Pečner on a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IV. Andrej Kacvinský and Martin Devoša enjoyed the second place on the Ford Fiesta and the crew of Miro Košč and Mário Galovič on the Peugeot 206 RC finished the three fastest "cupists".
The Košice rally tomorrow (October 17, 2021) continues with the second stage in which the competition crews must pass another six special stages. The name of the winner of the 47th Rally Košice 2021 will be known at 1 pm and 50 minutes on the finish podium.
