On the fifth day of June, the organizer Auto Klub Košice published Supplementary regulations for this year's 50th jubilee Garrett RALLY KOŠICE, which will take place on July 12-14, 2024, after approval by the national authority SAMŠ and PZM. At the same time, electronic registration for crews was launched via the website www.sams-asn.sk, the deadline for entries is set for Tuesday, July 2 at the stroke of midnight. Closing date with a reduced entry fee will be 3 days earlier.
50. Garrett Rally Košice will take place in accordance with the FIA International Sporting Code (FIA ISC) and its appendices, the Regional Rally Sporting Regulations 2024 (RRSR) with adjustments for the MSR/SRP, the technical regulations of the SAMŠ and PZM and the regulations of the FIA CEZ Championships 2024 .
The most important classifications include the FIA Central European Zone Rally Championships (CEZ) including the FIA CEZ Championship of Historic Cars (CEZ H), the International Slovak Rally Championship (MMSR), the Slovak Rally Championship (MSR) including the Slovak Rally Championship of Historic Cars (MSR HA) and Polish Rally Championship 2024 (RSMP).
The main centre of rally and the heart of the jubilee year will be the Košice football arena on Pri prachárni Street, where the Rally Headquarters, Service Park, Parc fermé will be located,. Also Scrutineering, starts of the both Legs and finish of the Leg 1 will take place here. The organizing committee works under the leadership of experienced official Gabriela Szczeczinová, Peter Szczeczina returned to the position of the Clerck of the Course, who has performed it for many years in the past.
Already on Thursday, July 11, in the afternoon, the issuing of Road books, GPS units and optional Administrative checks will begin for the competing crews. At the same time, the reconnaissance of the special stages will begin, which will continue until Saturday noon. On Friday, July 12, there is an Administrative check-in in the morning, and the Scrutineering of the competition vehicles will start at 10 am. The evening will take place at 6:30 p.m. Ceremonial start on Hlavná Street in Košice.
On Saturday, July 13, the Scrutineering will continue and from 9:00 a.m. the crews can set up the vehicle for a shakedown on the Zlatník section, 2.2 km long. The start of the competition is at 2 p.m. at the exit from the Service park, the first vehicle will reach the finish line of the Leg 1 at 9 p.m. The challenging rally will culminate on Sunday, July 14, with the final Leg 2, which starts at 7:30 a.m. The goal of the rally, announcement of results and distribution of prizes will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Hlavna Street.
The Košice rally will be a two-legs rally, measuring a total of 475 km and containing 9 special stages on 5 measured routes with a total length of 124 km. On Saturday, the SS named Izra, Bogota and Optima are on the program. The latter is a semi-circuit special stage on the outskirts of Košice. In the Sunday leg, the itinerary includes special stages called Herļany and Regeta. All special stages with the exception of the semi-circuit SS go twice. The longest stages are SS Bogota and SS Regeta, which measure 18.70 km. The crews of the Slovak Rally Cup (SRP) and the Regional Rally Cup (RRP) complete a shortened course.
The nominations of the Stewards is known. Boris Kočergin will act as chairman, the other members are Dominik Noworol from Poland and Jaroslav Vadoc. Among the delegated PZM officials, Arkadiusz Sąsara (PZM Observer) and Wojciech Nowak (PZM Technical delegate) will work on the Polish side, on the Slovak side the Safety delegate of SAMŠ is Ľubomír Šimko, the Chief Scrutineer Igor Horáček and the Chief timekeeper Stanislav Šíma. Tomáš Konečný and Marek Kisiel from Poland will be in charge of Competitors Relations Officers.
